Missing - Worth a Look

"Missing" is a suspenseful thriller that tells the story of an 18-year-old girl whose mother goes away on vacation with a new boyfriend and never returns. The movie does a great job of showcasing how technology can be used to track our every move, but it relies too heavily on the usage of in-image pictures and videos of videos shot on an iPhone, which can be distracting and take away from the story.

The story of "Missing" is not entirely unique, as it shares some similarities with the popular film "Taken," in which a young girl is kidnapped and her father must use all of his resources to find her. However, "Missing" takes a different approach by focusing on the use of technology as a tool for both tracking and hiding. The protagonist, played by the talented Storm Reid, is forced to use her own skills and knowledge of technology to uncover the truth about her mother's disappearance. Storm Reid did a fantastic job in portraying the emotional turmoil and determination of her character.

One of the strongest elements of the movie is the acting, particularly the performances of Storm Reid and Nia Long. Both deliver convincing and nuanced performances that keep the audience engaged and invested in the story. Nia Long in particular does a great job of portraying the mother and the audience can sense the emotional depth of her character.

The use of technology in the film is also handled well and adds an interesting layer to the story. From the use of GPS tracking to social media, the film highlights the ways in which technology can be used to both help and hinder the search for the missing mother. It also raises important questions about privacy and the potential dangers of constantly being connected.

However, the film's use of in-image pictures and videos of videos shot on an iPhone can be distracting and take away from the story at times. It can be disorienting and detract from the suspenseful atmosphere the film is trying to create.

Overall, "Missing" is a well-acted and thought-provoking thriller that uses technology in an interesting way to add depth to its story. While the use of in-image pictures and videos of videos shot on an iPhone can be distracting, it doesn't take away from the overall impact of the film. I would give the movie a 7 out of 10 rating, and think it's worth a watch for fans of suspenseful thrillers.
